Driving Directions

Here are the general routes to guide you to Smithville:

  • From North (via Garden State Parkway)

    • Use the Garden State Parkway South. Exit at Smithville via Exit 48 and follow local signs to the festival area.

  • From South (via Garden State Parkway)

    • Use the Garden State Parkway North. Take Exit 48 for Smithville and follow the signs to the event.

    • If arriving by Cape May-Lewes Ferry, after disembarking in Cape May, continue to the Garden State Parkway North and follow the above directions from Exit 48.

  • From Philadelphia and West (via Atlantic City Expressway)

    • Travel on the Atlantic City Expressway East. Take Exit 12 for Smithville, then follow signs to the festival.

Public Transportation

From Philadelphia to Smithville:

  • By Train:

    • Take the Atlantic City Rail Line directly from 30th Street Station in Philadelphia to Absecon Station.

    • From Absecon, a taxi or rideshare will take you directly to the Smithville Irish Festival.

  • By Bus:

    • Board the NJ Transit Route 551 bus from Philadelphia to Atlantic City.

    • From the Atlantic City Bus Terminal, take a taxi or rideshare to the festival site in Smithville.

From New York City to Smithville:

  • By Train and Bus:

    • Take NJ Transit's Northeast Corridor Line from New York Penn Station to Newark Penn Station.

    • At Newark, transfer to an NJ Transit bus that offers direct service to Atlantic City.

    • Take a local taxi or rideshare from Atlantic City to the Smithville Irish Festival in Historic Smithville.

Parking & Transportation

  • Designated Accessible Parking: Designated accessible parking spaces are available near the festival entrance. These spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis and require a valid handicap placard or license plate.
     

  • Drop-off Area: If accessible parking is full, a designated drop-off area near the entrance is available for those with mobility challenges.

Festival Grounds

  • Wheelchair-Friendly Terrain: The festival takes place on packed gravel pathways and brick pavers, making most areas accessible for wheelchairs and mobility devices.

  • Footbridges: The footbridges in Historic Smithville are slightly elevated but navigable for most wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

  • Rest Areas: Seating areas are available throughout the festival grounds for those needing a break.

Restrooms

  • Public Restrooms: Historic Smithville has permanent public restrooms located throughout the village.

  • Accessible Restrooms: ADA-compliant portable restrooms will also be available at multiple locations during the festival.

Dog-Friendly Festival

  • Welcoming Environment: Smithville is a dog-friendly venue, and well-behaved dogs are welcome to attend the festival.
